Melbourne Immersion (March 2026)
"A dynamic, mind opening look at education to prompt my personal growth and audit of practices to help me personally grow deep, with an intention of being free to flourish in education for many years to come. "
Melbourne Immersion (March 2026)
"I highly recommend the 3-day Melbourne immersion; it is one of the most powerful professional learning experiences I have participated in. I had a very clear purpose about what I was looking for, via the schools we visited and that purpose was exceeded beyond my expectations. Rather than surface-level observations, the immersion offered a deep exploration of the why behind each school’s learning space, location, design, and practice, which strongly aligned with Free to Flourish. At every school, leaders, staff and students prompted rich reflection by clearly demonstrating how purpose and pedagogy shape all aspects of their learning communities. This made it clear that schools can reimagine and restructure both what, how and where learning occurs when they are explicit about the learners they aim to develop, while still meeting Australian Curriculum requirements. Each visit provided a clear lens for observing learning as well as time for meaningful reflection on how these insights relate to our own contexts and current realities. The opportunity to engage in professional dialogue with colleagues from other Lutheran schools further enriched the experience. My highest praise goes to Andrew Bradtke and Kim Powell, whose thoughtful curation of the immersion and intentional collaboration with each of the school leaders, enabled participants to deeply consider how they might create the conditions for their own communities to become truly Free to Flourish."
Sydney Immersion (Aug 2025)
"The immersion was an excellent opportunity to take a deep dive into the futures focussed approach to learning of other schools. The openness of the schools we visited to share their experiences and learning with us, inviting us into their classrooms and seeing learning in practice, was invaluable. Doing the immersion with members of my school leadership team gave us time to reflect on our current reality and imagine a preferred future for education at our school. There are many takeaways from this experience that we plan to implement in our leadership structures and teacher pedagogy that will positively impact the experience of our students and their outlook on their own abilities, skills and motivations."
Melbourne Immersion (March 2025)
"This immersion challenged me to the core to reflect on my beliefs, deeply held mental models and ingrained practices and Identify how to deal with the creative tension between current reality and a shared preferred future."
Empathy to Impact (March 2026)
"I found the information provided very thought provoking, the connections were also invaluable and the time to have a day to plan a unit from scratch was very valuable and I wish we could have more time to plan units."

Melbourne Immersion (Sep 2025)
"The Free to Flourish Immersion was both practical and inspiring. Seeing how learning environments can be intentionally designed to spark investigation, and having the chance to connect with other educators, gave me concrete ideas that I can adapt and transfer into our own setting. It has created a strong sense of hope for what our kindergartens and schools can continue to become, and for the skills, mindsets, and growth our students can continue to achieve."
Sydney Immersion (Aug 2025)
"The Immersion is a rare opportunity to learn from being immersed in different educational contexts that allowed me to see and hear what other schools are doing. Then being given time to collaborate and ideate as the creative and generative space we are put in has let me contextualise the experience to my own school and already provided the start of a framework for improvement and structural change, and through the engagement with other participants has let me return to my college with a courageous heart."
Melbourne Immersion (March 2025)
"Free to Flourish Immersions have been a game changer - not only for me personally but for the different learning communities I have been apart of. They have been an extraordinary opportunity to deeply reflect, wonder and be provoked. These experiences have and are making a difference to our practice. "

"The time spent with other likeminded educators was very valuable. Seeing the different cultures and perspectives presenting the same curriculum was very interesting and informative I have gathered lots of new ideas and insights which I can hopefully share with my colleagues and implement into my teaching. "Quality of schools was exceptional! Fantastic for primary schools to see quality inquiry and a Reggio Emilia approach in action. I strongly encourage schools to bring along a team of teachers so that they can learn together and plan for implementation. "
